Hello. I am Namrah Ilyas, mother of two keen and energetic kids; by profession, a clinical psychologist and a freelance writer and blogger. I also provide mentoring to psychology students globally. I am married to a wonderful man who is my biggest supporter, cheerleader, and the mastermind behind what you see on this blog. If it weren’t for him, this blog would never have happened.
You might think that being a psychologist, it will be easy being a mom and raising kids. Because a psychologist knows all about the psychology of mothers and children. But my sweet and short answer is NO. Believe me, IT IS NOT. And here comes the reason why I started this blog despite having both my hands full (of course, the children, writing stuff, and coaching).
Why I started this blog?
The pregnancy, the post-pregnancy, and the motherhood, nothing is easy, and it is difficult for everyone. Like everyone else, I have questions and confusion, and I looked for answers. I looked in textbooks, in research articles, and psychology journals. I also looked in personal blogs and websites of other wonderful mamas. I found highly scientific content with facts, figures, and technical terms or found too subjective and personalized content lacking any authentic reference. It was so frustrating because, as a person of science and logic, I always look for the validation of facts and information.
My Expectation
So I started a blog that combines scientific knowledge with personal experience. I try to give other mommies scientifically correct and updated information in a comprehensive and straightforward way. My blog will keep the mommies updated and help them during this beautiful journey, from pregnancy to motherhood and beyond.
I hope that you find all the information needed while you browse through this website.
